a night with Bulgogi Brothers

Haloo all :)
I'm back. For those who saw the latest photo I posted on fb will know that I just celebrated Mr.Loke's Birthday few days back.

We went to this Korean Restaurant located at Paradigm Mall named Bulgogi Brothers for our dinner .
It was a belated birthday dinner for 2 birthday boys, Mr.loke and Lin Chin aka Mr.pilot.
FYI, I am a big fan of Korean Cuisine. and Japanese, and.. TOM YUM and.. (the list goes on and on). I love eating good food. Oh well, who doesn't???
Good food doesn't mean expensive food. Good food simply means tasty and stunning food or whatever makes me happy. Nasi Lemak from the roadside could be a good food too.
So, these are what we had :
Korean side dishes
The Korean Appetizer was fine. I am totally in love with the mashed pumpkin scoop. I swear, it is really scrumptious. love the cold and smooth texture, with a little crunchy pumpkin bits in it.

Kimchi Jjigae
Unlike the Kimchi Soup from Daorae, this Kimchi Jjigae is much thicker than usual and is rather authentic. A very warm and hearty dish. Besides, I didn't expect the beef slice to be so tender which literally melted in my mouth? I think. *exaggerating*

Soju Chum-curum
Soju, errr... I took a tiny sip, we think it tasted like Vodka. 4 of them ended up didn't get to finish this small bottle of Soju. This brand is one of the favourite Soju brand in Korea (according to the menu info), but too bad.. not for me.
Haemul Bibimbab

This is what I ordered. It Tastes really bland itself, but it tasted much better with the Korean chili paste.
Haemul Gungjung Mandu
The above is the Golden brown Korean dumplings served with mussels, shrimps, squids.
I prefer Japanese dumplings (gyoza) more.

Haemul Pajeon
This is the worst of all. tasteless and glutinous piece of flour.
It doesn't taste as good as it looks. Don't be deceived by its presentation :/
Dak Galbi Bulgogi
After having so many dishes, this is our last dish. We were all already so full at that time, especially me, but still I had a few pieces of those. This dish is not suitable for those who can't take spicy food at all because it is really spicy, I donno why.

Overall, the food is quite satisfactory (except for the Korean pancake), the service was not so good but the waiter served us a complimentary plum tea after we finished our meal, so this actually add points a little.
The plum tea is really nice, and I finished it up for Mr.loke. HAH... (maybe I was just too thirsty)

Last but not least, a group photo of Mr.Loke with his close friends since high school. Nice meeting you guys :))

took few pictures but all is blurry. This is the best I have with me. but still better than nothing.

The OL diary: way of life

Hello everyone! How’s life?
I’m still alive after going through hectic weeks.
Ever since I started my internship, I have been spending my time really well (Yes, even the weekends).

I blogged about my first week of internship in the previous entry. So this week, I'm NOT going to continue my week 2 story, etc , but I'm going to blog about some thoughts I have got in my mind after working for 3 weeks.
Everyone is a two-faced for different situations, I reckon.
For example: In the workplace, no matter how people dislike their superior for example the CEO. Hmm.. they will just nod their heads happily with a great big smile. Deep in their heart, agree or not? You will get to find out after the “superior” left because the gossip and sarcasm will just reveal clearly.
I guess this is what we called the way of surviving in the workplace?
I still remember one of my friends called me up and ask about what’s true friend? How to know who is true friend, who’s not?
I told her it is hard to know who is true and who is not and it is definitely a waste of time to suspect your friends and try to figure out who’s not a true friend (backstabber) because it’s hard to know. For me, as long as the person treats me nice and right then he/ she is a great friend. What they do behind I’ll just leave it behind. For those who are OBVIOUSLY a betrayer and backstabber, you should just stay away from them. FULL STOP
life is too short to worry who’s true and who's not. Agree?
Anyway, this is just my opinion and you don’t have to agree with me. Hah
Okay okay… switch topic.
You know what are the pros and cons of working in a food & beverage company?
let me share some.
Advantage:You get to get free food. I got a box of free mooncake on the first day. Besides, our manager treated us a lunch on last Friday. I got to try around 11 types of food from the menu. I don’t think I will get to try so many things from the menu even if I go as a customer for 3 times!
Disadvantage:A food company. I'm working in the accounting department and I deal with invoices every day and you know what? The invoice papers are a bit dirty, oily, and dusty. I can see chili stain, oil stain on the paper. Imagine the same paper has been passing around from the supplier (meat, vege, fish seller) to the outlet (which gonna pass around in the kitchen as well) and lastly, the lucky one from the head quarter office will get those invoices. Now you know why.
Don’t worry, not every of them but some.  Lol

OOTD
finally get to wear this dress from topshop after bought it for 3 months. :)
lastly, let me share this quote from one of my favorite movie.

“People have two sides, a good side and a bad side, a past, a future. We must embrace both in someone we love.”          -The Tourist-

Enjoy you weekends!

The OL diary: first week of internship

Haloo peep. I have started my internship and this entry is sort of like a diary and sharing about my internship :)

day 1 of internship
I feel lost and trying to adapt to this new environment, a place where I know nobody.
I have my own cubicle and my seat is right under the air-conditioner. freezing there and I got flu at the end of the day.
Basically unfamiliar with my work task and the office culture.

day 2
My flu just got worse and I felt so fatigue and felt so so reluctant to enter the office, but I tried to focus on my task and hoping time flies.

day 3
I took panadol before I go to work and today I got a little smarter. why? Because.. I brought my earphone to my workplace as I reminded myself yesterday. It's just so quiet, all I can hear is the phone ringing, puncher and stapler noise, oh yea.. and the fax machine noise. I need music!
At the end of the day, Adele's songs saved my day :)

day 4
Today felt much better, no more fever. I kinda started to enjoy my work more.

day 5
Emo Nemo in the morning because I fought with Mr. Loke. -.-
Today did a lot of scanning... scan audit annual report from different outlet and the 'best part' is I gotta flip page by page and the ''double best part'' is I need to scan the same thing for twice due to some problem.

Overall, I started to adapt to the environment and I get to learn a lot of new things.
hope next week is gonna be better! :)

Besides telling you about my intership, I shall share some friend's internship experience too ahemmm...

Miss xx: first week of internship just got scolded like nobody business just because she made some mistakes.

Miss pp: she witnessed live ''office drama and cat fight''. 3 colleagues just quarrell and almost slap each other. What caused that? too much of gossips.
moral of the story: Don't gossip so much when you work.

Mr gg: I saw his fb status saying first day of internship - mop the floor in formal wear.

haha, so for those who are still enojoying Uni life, please enjoy and cherish your uni life...
Internship and work life is not that easy. Of course they are still some got great experience.

I got this on the first day of internship. not bad huh...
Seriously,
I feel that time is really precious now :/
